Onion cheese rolls? A fresh fruit pie made with homemade pastry? Or will that be a fresh baked sourdough French Baguette? Limpa Rye...? Cookie Trays? Multigrain Sprouted Wheat?

Hi, I'm Allison Mackay, owner of  this home-based licensed bakery (early stages pictured above) since August of 2004.
I am a passionate baker with a caterer's heart.

I've done  a modest amount of catering and hope to expand to be able to offer more in the way of off site services soon. I can offer some catering on a smaller scale and occasionally am hired to make up food trays and baskets. I've even been asked to provide flowers from my garden which included a spray of raspberries for one special customer!
Meanwhile I have been steadily supplying breads, pies, cookies, pasties and the occasional birthday cake to my friends and neighbors here in northwest lower Michigan.

Office Hours? Bakery Hours?

I prefer to bake in the evening and even later mainly because I can get more done. Less interruptions! I'll bake all day long though when I have a deadline.

Nice thing about a home bakery, I live upstairs. I can bake whenever I want!

The house is an historic 100+ year old house once known as the Sherman Mansion, a few blocks from the south arm of Lake Michigan.

Orders placed during the day are  usually ready by morning next day or as needed. I will make local deliveries or items may be picked up. I usually call my customers personally to confirm the order is ready or when it will be.

I will also ship USPS, please call for details. (Some things I won't recommend but most breads are shippable)

Customers are welcome to call anytime. If by chance there isn't an immediate answer please leave a message and I'll return your call (or email) promptly. I'm probably in the bakery mixing up something !
